Focus on your craft.
We’ll handle the numbers.
Who we are
We work with business owners who need more than compliance — they need a partner who understands how their business actually runs: irregular income, multi-state activity, complex deductions, and decisions that compound over time. That expertise runs especially deep in music, film, and entertainment, where royalties, project-based income, and multi-state work are the norm, not the exception. Think of us as your behind-the-scenes financial team — protecting what you’ve built, planning for what’s next, and helping you build stronger.
A modern approach
No two creatives are alike. That’s why we take a personalized approach, learning the details of your projects, contracts, and income streams to craft a financial plan that suits your lifestyle. Instead of one-size-fits-all solutions, we offer clarity, strategy, and confidence for your financial journey.
Chevy Crabb, MBA — Founder & Tax Advisor for Musicians and Entertainers
Chevy Crabb is the founder of Regent Financial & Tax Advisors, a boutique tax and financial advisory firm built specifically for musicians, entertainers, and creative entrepreneurs. Before starting Regent, she spent 16+ years inside the music industry itself, handling corporate tax and cross-border royalty accounting — including 1042/1042-S withholding — at Sony Music, Epic Records, and Paramount Global. She built Regent because creative professionals kept being handed the same generic small-business tax advice as everyone else, when royalty income, touring pay, and cross-border payments actually need someone who has processed them from the inside.
Credentials & Background
MBA, completed January 2026
Member, American Institute of CPAs (AICPA)
Member, New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJCPA)
Member, New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA)
Can prepare and sign tax returns; full IRS representation rights (audit and collection matters) come with licensure
Industry Experience
Sixteen-plus years of corporate tax and royalty accounting experience, including prior roles at Sony Music, Epic Records, and Paramount Global. That background is centered on cross-border royalty accounting and 1042/1042-S withholding — the exact mechanics that trip up touring artists, songwriters with international catalogs, and labels paying royalties to foreign recipients. Most tax preparers have never seen a 1042-S; Chevy has processed them.
Why Regent
Regent Financial & Tax Advisors exists because creative income doesn’t fit a standard tax return: royalty statements, 1099s from multiple states and countries, touring per diems, sync licensing checks, and self-employment structuring all need specialized handling that generic small-business accountants don’t offer. Regent positions itself as “The Financial Architect for Creatives” — building the same caliber of financial infrastructure a major-label artist would have, for independent musicians, producers, and entertainers managing it themselves.
Beyond the Numbers
Chevy is also a working musician and bassist, a dancer, and a music manager — she has stood on both sides of the royalty statement. She’s based in the NJ/NYC metro area.
Chevy Crabb is an active CPA candidate and is not yet a licensed CPA. She can prepare and sign tax returns but does not currently represent clients before the IRS in audit or collection matters.
